Awdalpress(Lughaya) 25 Sep.11—Authorities in Lughaya district of Awdal region have expressed concern over the fate of some 400 drought and famine displaced families camping in the area, saying they are facing humanitarian crisis.
Area district commissioner, Bahsane Saeed told Bar-kulan that the families who fled outposts around the district need immediate humanitarian aid to save their lives.
He said diarrhea and other famine related complications are risking the lives of people among the IDPs in the district.
Bahsan the families fled their villages due to lack of water and other necessity but their conditions is yet to improve.
He urged the regional administration and aid agencies to swiftly come to their aid in preventing further humanitarian catastrophe in the area.
